Hello! Kaycee is with us now! Monday we went to the Civil Affairs office and met her. There were many other families waiting for their children, so it was very noisy. Kaycee was very scared, but warmed up to us once she started playing with my camera. We were at the office for about an hour, then left for the hotel. Kaycee cried from the building to the hotel, was not a fun ride, but we survived. We got out the bubbles & balloon, and she decided that we were ok. She slept well last night, except that we could not get her clothes off of her to put pj's on. Today we had to go back to the Civil Affairs office for some more paperwork. Helen our coordinator explained to Kaycee that we would not be leaving her there. After filling out the paperwork we did some shopping to get Kaycee a few things. Bad mommy - she forgot panties, socks and pajamas. After the shopping, which was waayy to much stimulation - we went back to the room for lunch & naptime. After resting we went to the park, and played in the play room at the hotel. We finally got Kaycee to break out of her shell for a few hours - she has a wonderful laugh. Still can't get her out of her clothes for bedtime, I think she thinks that we won't give her the clothes back. Tomorrow she has to take a bath, which should be traumatic because we tried this morning and she screamed, and then shook the entire time that Emilee was in the bathtub. I am off to bed! Good night!

  3. Oh MY GOSH!!! She is beautiful!!! It is such a sight to see all of you together. Makes me cry...again. Caroline was scared of the tub at first also, but loved it by the end of the trip. Hopefully that will be your experience. Congratulations!!! You have the two cutest girls on the planet!

  4. Rachel - What did you finally do to make Caroline love the tub? Did she have any issues with not wanting to change her clothes?

  5. Congrats on your adoption. I think I got your blog from an ftia group. We adopted a 3yo girl 7 months ago. We quickly learned that she hadn't been taking baths in a tub, but showers. I'm not sure that the water was on her all the time, like we would have, but maybe she had more of a sponge bath, standing. Fortunately, our daughter thought the tub was hysterically funny. You'll figure it out, hang in there! Oh, and have the guide explain the pj thing to her.
